Verses alien melt upon the air
Denizens this place we share
In a mirrored hall juxtaposed a laugh
Pray the moment’s weakness passed
If the youth we bleed out in smoke and screens
Fills the space between us when we meet
Scared to death that I will not have the time
To say the things I need to say to you
Crossing an ocean
And carving off the fat
Now that it’s late
And we’ve had our share of laughs
Stay through the night
For tomorrow when it rains
Hearts safely kept
Here within another plane
Seeing through the shadows seeing through the lake
Tend the futile fires we make
Callused lips that blow on the herald horn
Thousand times the same reborn
So my vacant mind turns itself inside
To wander in that still unspoiled dream
There again we’ll meet in that in between
Where atlas isles fade into the sea
Crossing an ocean
And carving off the fat
Now that it’s late
And we’ve had our share of laughs
Stay through the night
For tomorrow when it rains
Hearts safely kept
Here within another plane
